Once upon a time, there was a website for nerds who genuinely loved living with dragons and swinging warhammers into orc skulls on weekends. It gave geeks around the world a place to buy, sell, and trade everything in the realm of dorkdom. Its name was Otako Space.
Then came a sad day: the creators had to shut it down. But the vision — and the wonder — never actually left. It just went looking for a new home.
That new home showed up during a familiar kind of frustration: scrolling through page after page of generic sites, hunting for the right gaming gadget, and wishing Otako Space still existed. That’s the day Shop Friki was born.
Shop Friki is a free online catalog run by one certified super-dork who shops for nerdy gear the way your girlfriend browses Zillow listings for mansions she has zero intention of buying — purely for the joy of looking. Except here, it’s everything nerdy and soccer-adjacent instead of real estate.
