Best MLS Home Kits for 2026

So my guy sends me a jersey, right, and he’s hyped, and I’m looking at it going this is a lot of lightning bolts for a soccer shirt. But that’s the thing about MLS kits now, they’ve stopped playing it safe. Every club’s design team is out here telling a whole origin story on a piece of athletic polyester, bunting and fireworks, art deco lobbies, pitch textures, the works. So I went and found five of this year’s home kits that actually have something to say, not just a crest slapped on a template.
Five teams, five completely different ideas of what a home kit should look like. No price talk, no ranking by best, just what’s actually going on with each one.
New England Revolution: Independence Day Kit
Alright, Revolution, let’s go. Navy base, and then somebody in the design room apparently got handed a box of fireworks and said make it a shirt. Red lines radiating out from the center like a sunburst, and the whole thing’s supposed to be bunting and fireworks lighting up the sky every summer, patriotic, tradition, the whole bit. It’s also a nod to their old 90s shirts, which, respect, because most of this league pretends the 90s didn’t happen. Sleeves stay calm, solid navy with the big three stripes, like the design team needed one quiet moment after the front panel.
New York Red Bulls: Rooted Kit
Rooted. Black shirt, and it looks like someone shook a soda can of red lightning and let it rip across the whole thing. Lightning bolts radiating everywhere, tagline’s literally Red Runs Deep, and honestly that tracks, it’s an electric-looking jersey for a club that’s been grinding in that market since the league basically started. Adidas stripes sit up on the shoulders so the lightning’s got the whole front to itself.
LAFC: Primary Kit
LAFC went full art deco on this one, and it rules. Black and gold, obviously, that’s non-negotiable at this point, but the pattern’s pulling straight from the Grand Lobby at BMO Stadium, so you’re basically wearing the building. EQT collar, a little jocktag detail, inside neck signoff on the authentic version. It’s less soccer jersey and more this club has genuinely thought about aesthetics longer than most, which, in LA, tracks.
Columbus Crew: Crafted for Excellence Kit
Crew’s back to bright yellow and black, and for the first time since like 2012 they brought back a polo collar, which is a small detail that somehow changes the whole vibe of the shirt. Texture’s pulling from the actual pitch, jock tag nods to the city flag, and tucked inside the neck is Wholeheartedly Committed to Crafting Excellence plus their 1996 founding year, because Columbus never lets you forget they were MLS’s first club. They will remind you. Repeatedly. It’s fine, they earned it.
LA Galaxy: VeloCITY Kit
Galaxy kept it classic, white with navy and gold, but the sash, the signature Galaxy sash, isn’t a straight line anymore, it’s broken up into these angled cuts meant to look like motion, growth, whatever the club’s going for next. New six-star crest sits on there too in this shimmery silver, which is a nice quiet flex. It’s the most we-know-exactly-who-we-are-just-updating-the-font kit on this list, and there’s something to be said for that.
That’s the lineup, five clubs, five completely different design philosophies, zero of them boring. Grab whichever one actually matches the crest you already care about.
