Best Board Game and Tabletop Accessories for 2026: 5 Upgrades for Game Night

Close-up of blue and red polyhedral dice with a blue d20 in focus

Game night at my buddy’s place, right? We’re three hours into a campaign, everybody’s locked in, and somebody rolls a d20 so hard it flies off the table, bounces off the dog and disappears under the couch. Now six grown adults are on their hands and knees with phone flashlights like we’re searching a crime scene, and the tokens for the whole game are sitting in a sandwich bag that’s been ripped open since 2019.

So here’s the deal. The games got fancy and the stuff around them didn’t. We picked five accessories that fix the actual problems at the table: dice worth rolling, a tray so they stay on the table, a home for every tiny token, a box for the card collection and a tube so your playmat stops looking like a potato chip.

Haxtec Metal Dice Set (Bloodstained)

Let’s start with the fun part. This is a full seven-piece polyhedral set, d4 through d20 plus the percentile die, made of metal with a blood-splatter finish that looks like it survived a rough dungeon. Metal dice have a weight to them that plastic never will, and there’s something deeply satisfying about how they hit the table. They come with a leather dice bag, so they’re not rattling around loose in your backpack. One warning from experience: metal dice will mark up a nice wooden table, which is exactly why the next pick exists.

SIQUK Foldable Hexagon Dice Trays (4-Pack)

These are four hexagon dice trays in red, black, blue and violet, one for each player, so nobody’s sharing and nobody’s dice go flying under the couch. They’re PU leather on the outside with soft velvet inside, which keeps rolls quiet and protects the dice and the table. When game night’s over, they unsnap and fold flat, so they slide into a shelf or a game box. They’re a little stiff to snap together at first, but that’s the price of a tray that doesn’t fall apart mid-roll.

Gamegenic Token Silo

This is the sandwich-bag replacement. Gamegenic’s Token Silo holds nine removable trays in three sizes, so coins, cubes, meeples and damage counters all get their own spot. During the game, you clip the lid to the bottom and the whole thing becomes a tabletop organizer, and you can pull trays out and pass them around. The boxes stack, too, so a big game can get its own little silo tower. Setup and cleanup stop being a twenty-minute sorting session, and the sandwich bag can finally retire.

UAONO Trading Card Storage Box

If anybody at your table plays a card game, their collection is probably living in shoeboxes. This box, per the listing, holds over 3,200 cards, with 24 dividers and 4 stoppers to keep decks and sets separate, and it closes with a magnet, so it doesn’t spill open on the way to game night. It’s PU leather, so it looks good sitting on a shelf. It works for Magic, Pokémon, sports cards and anything else in standard card size.

Ultimate Guard MatPod

Playmats are great right up until you have to store one. Fold it and it creases, roll it loose and it unrolls in your bag. The MatPod is a sturdy PET tube with a cap that fits a standard 61 by 35 cm playmat, with room for thicker mats. Ultimate Guard says it can handle rain and even a brief dunk in water, so you can carry it to a game store in bad weather. It also works for posters and prints, if your table has an art fan.

That’s the lineup. Start with the dice and the trays if your table’s rolls keep escaping, grab the Token Silo if setup takes longer than the game, and add the card box and MatPod for the collectors in the group. Your next game night gets cleaner, quieter and a lot less time under the couch.
