Best MLS Away Kits for 2026

You know what nobody talks about? The away kit. Everybody loses their mind over the home shirt, the one the team wears in front of its own fans, and the away kit gets treated like the spare tire. Then you see one on the road, under the lights, and you think, wait, why is that the better shirt? Anyway, I’ve got to read this, so here we go.

These are the five best MLS away kits for the 2026 season, the secondary shirts clubs wear on the road. No third kits, no one-off specials, just this season’s away jerseys. Every one is a replica from World Soccer Shop.

Atlanta United: Spirit of '96 Kit

Atlanta went somewhere completely different with this one. It drops the usual red, black and gold for a cream base with gold and green, celebrating 30 years since the 1996 Olympic Games came to Atlanta. The crest is styled like a gold medal over the heart, the inside neck tag reads MCMXCVI–MMXXVI to tie 1996 to 2026, and laurel wreaths sit on the back of the neck. MLS’s own writers called it the club’s best secondary kit ever, and it’s hard to argue.

San Jose Earthquakes: The Dead Kit

A sky-blue tie-dye soccer jersey. That’s not a joke, that’s the kit. San Jose built it around the Grateful Dead, whose first show was in San Jose in 1965, with the tie-dye pattern running across the front and down the sleeves. It’s the loudest shirt on this list by a mile, and it works because it’s a real piece of the city’s history, not just a gimmick.

Sporting Kansas City: 18th & Vine Kit

This one is a tribute to 18th & Vine, Kansas City’s historic jazz district. You get neon-inspired accents and argyle diamonds on the outside, and inside the collar there’s sheet music from a Kansas City classic. You probably won’t see that detail from the stands, and it’s still my favorite thing on the shirt. It’s the kind of design you keep finding things in.

Inter Miami: Presagio Kit

Miami has worn a black away kit every season since joining the league in 2020, and the Presagio keeps the streak going. It’s a black base with pink crest and logos, anthracite stripes, and a polo collar that makes it look more like something you’d wear to dinner than to a match. If you want one shirt that works for matchday and a night out, it’s this one.

Austin FC: Rooted Kit

Austin went green and outdoors with this one. The mint-green design draws on Barton Springs and the city’s greenbelt, with an oak tree graphic set in front of the Congress Avenue Bridge. On the back of the neck it reads ROOTED IN ATX. It’s calm, it’s clean, and it’s the most wearable shirt here.

That’s the lineup. Olympic gold in Atlanta, tie-dye in San Jose, jazz in Kansas City, black and pink in Miami, and oak trees in Austin. Pick the city you love, or the shirt that makes you happiest. That’s it, that’s the read. Links are right there.
